Swansea city 1-2 Manchester city

Goals: G.sigurosson 45 - Toure 21, J.milner 36

  • 54'
LAMPARD SHOULD DO BETTER! City break on the counter attack once again with him and Aguero leading the charge. The striker sets up Lampard, but he can't quite get enough on the ball and Fabianski gathers.
  • 52'
City may be on course for a fifth straight win but their recent form on the road has been pretty poor. In fact, the win at Tottenham Hotspur was their first win away from the Etihad in five games.
  • 50'
    Yellow Card James Milner
  • 50'
Milner is shown the first yellow card of the day for a rash challenge on Montero. Interestingly, he has never been on the losing side against Swansea - his goal will continue that record as things stand.
  • 48'
There's a generous cheer around the Liberty as Bony warms up on the touchline. He is still Swansea's top Premier League scorer this season with nine, including one in the reverse fixture at the Etihad Stadium in November.
  • 46'
CITY KICK OFF THE SECOND HALF!
  • The players are back out there and the second half is fast approaching!
  • As things stand, City have tightened their grip on second place with Arsenal looking to cut the gap against Manchester United later. Anything other than a win will put an end to Swansea's European challenge. We should be in for quite a second half.
  • How crucial will that goal be going into the second half? Swansea appeared out of it when Yaya Toure and James Milner put Manchester City 2-0 up, but Gylfi Sigurdsson's strike just before the break has given the hosts real hope and makes Manuel Pellegrini's team talk a little more difficult than he would have anticipated.
  • HALF TIME - SWANSEA CITY 1 MANCHESTER CITY 2
  • 45' + 1'
And that's it for the first half!
  • 45'
    Assist Neil Taylor

    Goal Gylfi Sigurdsson
LIFELINE FOR SWANSEA - SIGURDSSON! What a time to score too! Montero and Taylor set up the Icelandic international, who has space on the edge of the box to take a touch and drill the ball past Hart. Game on!
  • 43'
He has shown five red cards in his 45 games so far this season, including one to Vincent Kompany during Belgium's Euro 2016 qualifier against Israel in March.
  • 42'
Mark Clattenburg is the referee this afternoon. He was at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday for the Champions League semi-final second leg between Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
  • 40'
Garry Monk will be praying for the half-time whistle now so that he can get his players going again. They need to regain a foothold in the game if they are to keep their European hopes alive.
  • 38'
City burst forward again with six men eventually in the Swansea area, including full-backs Kolarov and Zabaleta, before the move eventually comes to nothing.
  • 36'
    Assist Sergio Agüero

    Goal James Milner
MILNER MAKES IT TWO! That was a wonderful counter attack from City following a Swansea corner. Aguero leads the charge in taking on Richards and finding Milner, who cuts inside Taylor and finishes beyond Fabianski. That's his eighth goal of the season.
  • 34'
Swansea have only lost twice here at the Liberty in the calendar year, 2015. On both occasions, it came against teams above them in Chelsea and Liverpool.
  • 32'
Right on cue, they break on the counter attack and Gomis is unmarked in the box before drawing a good save out of Hart with a header. It wouldn't have counted anyway as he had just strayed offside.
  • 31'
The goal seems to have taken the stuffing out of Swansea. For all their good work at the start of the game, they are very much on the backfoot now and need to get themselves going again.
  • 29'
Many will be hoping that Pellegrini does stay despite City's failure to win any silverware this season. They need to bring quality to the club during the summer transfer window, without a doubt.
  • 27'
LAMPARD JUST CAN'T CONNECT! Kolarov whips a dangerous ball across the face of goal and Lampard arrives late into the area as he has so often down the years, but cannot stretch enough to direct it home.
  • 25'
That is just want Manuel Pellegrini will have wanted as he looks to secure a second-place finish for City. Interestingly, Swansea were the opponents in May 2013 for what proved to be Roberto Mancini's penultimate match in charge. The Chilean will be hoping that is not the case for him.
  • 23'
The question in recent weeks has been surrounding the whereabouts of Toure next season. He hasn't been at his absolute best this season, but that was vintage from him to give his side the lead.
  • 21'
    Assist David Silva
  • 21'
    Goal Yaya Touré
YAYA TOURE DOES IT AGAINST SWANSEA, AGAIN! He receives the ball on the edge of the area and his fierce effort deflects off Williams and beyond a helpless Fabianski. It's the third game in a row that he's found the net against the Swans. City lead!
  • 18'
THE BALL'S IN THE NET... BUT IT'S OFFSIDE! Aguero latches onto a through ball and cleverly dinks the ball over Fabianski, but he just sprung the offside trap too early.
  • 17'
CHANCE FOR DYER! He pounces on a mistake from Mangala and is one-on-one with Hart, who makes a very good save to bail out his centre half.
  • 16'
He has been the main man in the last five minutes. He stands over a free kick 30 yards from goal and just off centre, and he isn't too far away as he drags his effort just wide.
  • 14'
The Serbian is alert again for his side as Shelvey looked to release Dyer with a driven through ball. The left-back is first to the ball though to pick up the pieces for the visitors.
  • 12'
Swansea are on the front foot at the moment. Montero beats Zabaleta and gets to the byline, before Kolarov has to make an important header to clear the danger.
  • 10'
ALL GOOD UNTIL THE FINISH! A lovely move from the Swans sees Montero break the offside trap and pull the ball back for Gomis, who doesn't connect properly and sends it wide of the target.
  • 9'
Swansea are so good in possession. They look after the ball very well with everyone getting involved and Gomis holding it up nicely for his team mates.
  • 7'
This is the eighth meeting in the Premier League between the sides, with Swansea only having won on one occasion - that was back in March 2012 when Luke Moore scored the winner.
  • 5'
There is an end-of-season feel to this encounter with both sides keen and eager to push forward in the early stages. Swansea are looking the more comfortable of the sides so far.
  • 3'
GOOD EFFORT FROM GOMIS! Shelvey picks up a loose header from Demichelis and releases his striker, who tries his luck from the edge of the area and draws a smart save out of Hart.
  • 1'
AND WE'RE OFF! Swansea get us underway!
  • The teams are coming out onto the pitch and kick off is just moments away!
  • Two of the Premier League's form teams go head-to-head this afternoon. Swansea are looking for a fourth straight win and continue their late pushing for a European place. City, meanwhile, are aiming for a sixth consecutive victory as they look to seal a second-place finish.
